What is Google Sitemap
The Google Sitemap allows you to inform search engines about URLs on your website that are available for
crawling. It enables webmasters to include additional
information about each URL. when it was last updated; how
often it changes; how important it is in relation to other
URLs in the site etc. so that search engines can crawl the
site more intelligently Once you've created your Sitemap,
you'll need to add it to your list of Sitemaps in order to
view diagnostic information.
Google Sitemap Generator
Google is providing a script to generate the XML file based on the Sitemap Protocol, it will look at your server logs, web directory, or a list of URLs. There are a number of tools available online to help you generate the Sitemap for your website. You can find the one below:

Explorer |
Site Explorer is a new tool offered by Yahoo Search to help
webmasters determine the indexing of the site and incoming
links. This will give you a list of all the sites that
link to a specific URL. Site Explorer allows you to explore
all the web pages indexed by Yahoo! Search.
It allows you to view the most popular pages from any site,
dive into a comprehensive site map, and find pages that link
to that site or any page. The Yahoo! search database
contains detailed information about the structure of the web.
In addition to the web pages themselves, the database
stores information about links among pages, and uses that
information to gauge the popularity of a given page.
Site Explorer gives you access to this information so you can
learn about a site. To explore a site, you submit a URL using
a search box, just as you would for a normal web search.
