Choosing a Merchant Account Provider |
How you accept online payments will determine the scale of your online
profits. All merchant accounts are not alike. Of course,
this faulty assumption has lead to much e-commerce
frustration - and more than one e-business crisis.
You find the best merchant account for your business model,
and for the types of goods you sell. Most ISOs offer
merchant accounts and the ability to process online
credit card transactions in exchange for a transaction
fee and a percentage of sales. Unlike banks, ISOs are
generally more tolerant of high-risk accounts because
they are not monitored or as tightly regulated. In fact,
much of their business comes from companies that cannot
obtain merchant accounts from banks directly.
Some ISOs are very reputable; some are not. It is important
that you do some research before settling on one
particular merchant account provider.
You must consider a few
factors like cost, customer service, online presence
and above all, integrity, must be considered
before you choose a provider for your business.
Don't automatically assume a provider is legitimate just by
what they have posted on their website or conveyed to
you over the telephone. Make
sure your prospective merchant account provider has
extensive experience working with a wide spectrum of
different of business models, both Internet startups and
'brick and click' enterprises. |
|
Communication is critical. Make sure your merchant account
provider has the customer care platform to swiftly and
reliably answer questions and resolve problems. Integrity
is important.
Here are some warning signals to watch out for and
suggestions to test a provider's integrity:

| Small
Businesses in the second term of the Bush Administration |
|
Small Businesses are looking forward to the policies of the
second Bush administration. A key concern is whether the
policies of the first Bush administration will simply carry over
into the next four years, or if Bush will pursue a more
aggressive agenda in his final term in office. In the first week
since the election, Bush has given indications that he will go
after new initiatives that expand on his familiar core
principles. But he will be challenged to pay for any new
initiatives amid a ballooning federal deficit.
Bush's
first term saw a series of tax cuts designed to stimulate the
economy and aid small business. His first term produced mixed
results in the area of health care, with premiums going up
significantly during the past four years. Bush had scaled back
7(a) loans at one point. The Bush Administration's 2005 budget
calls for further cuts to the SBA and other means for small
businesses to access capital.

Basic SEO: Optimizing pages with JavaScript |
When a Search Engine sends its robot out to look at your
page, you want to make sure that it finds important information
near the top of the web page, and that the page has a high
keyword density. One of the complications, extensive JavaScript
code, can be easily remedied.
Typically the largest amount of JavaScript code in a web page
is found in the HEAD section. Unfortunately, having a large
amount of JavaScript code in a page can be detrimental to a
page's ranking in the Search Engines.
Since Search Engines tend to pay more attention to text at
the beginning of a web page than they do to text further from
the beginning.
JavaScript Problem: Keyword density is also important. Here
again, if you have several hundred words of JavaScript code in a
page, the keyword density—the ratio of your keywords to all the
words in the whole page, both text and code—is going to be much
lower. That means that some Search Engines will decide that your
page is less relevant. ......

Nature of Emoney |
|
E-money consists of two
distinct types of e-money: identified e-money and
anonymous e-money. Identified e-money contains
information revealing the identity of the person who
originally withdrew the money from the bank. Identified
e-money enables the bank to track the money as it moves
through the economy. Anonymous e-money works just
like real paper cash. It can be spent or given away
without leaving a transaction trail. |
