Effective content optimization is a must in Web promotion. Well optimized content always drives your web site into top position in search engines. When you optimize your content, keywords should not be used too many times. Content should always be informative and targeted. Content must be appealing and attractive so that it grabs your target audience.

The content for any website needs to be optimized in terms of keywords and looks to make it search engine and user friendly. It is always advisable to have regular updations in terms of new content. This helps the search engine crawler to visit your website more frequently. That content should describe the topic, information sections and the purpose of the site. Usually, visitors tend to leave the site if the essential information they are looking for is not available.

Here are some tips for content optimization -

Include keywords in text

Be sure that all those keywords which you have included in your meta tags and the ones which come up on initial search query are included in the text of your site.

Do not overcrowd the keywords in text

Usually, about 5% to 20% of your text will be keywords. Be careful not to overcrowd your text with keywords as it may not look appealing to the readers. Note that you should have the most important keywords in the beginning of the page to give more weightage to the content.

Google, Yahoo! and MySpace recently announced that they have teamed up to create the Open Social Foundation which is a non-profit foundation supporting the OpenSocial initiative. This group was formed to encourage open governance of the OpenSocial specifications.

The main reason behind the formation of this group was to create a universal standard so that the developers can use OpenSocial for creating new applications on social-networking sites across the web. It also aims to establish intellectual property guidelines around applications.

Google's OpenSocial platform got significant new support now and is looking forward to solidify the future of the platform by encouraging community interaction. The OpenSocial Foundation will have its own intellectual property and governance policies and will serve as an independent entity.

Google opens up demographic bidding for AdWords on its content network. This feature will certainly help the advertisers to have a better control by helping them choose the target audience.

Google has recently started this demographic bidding for all Adwords advertisers. All AdWords advertisers, means all the people who are utilizing the content network. This added feature gives small business owners good control on who sees their AdWords ads. Such type of bidding is mainly used for displaying your ads to specific groups of gender and age group audiences on some sites in the Google content network. This gives you better control to know who your audience is and a greater picture about how your ads perform with specific demographic groups.
