Google is the leading search engine website on the Internet and there are so many websites that are available for Google searches. The increasing popularity of the Google search engine is mainly due to the simple way developed by Google for creating different web pages on its various search engines. Google takes stringent measures by regularly updating the index of its web pages for all the websites on their search engine so that the website owners and those who visit them can enjoy Google services and the latest pages.
Google has added attractive programs and various features as a result of the increasing recognition of Google amongst millions and millions of Internet website visitors / surfers the world over. Google has launched some experimental search features that enable users to find and reorganize more search results.
The new Google experimental search features page has a total of five projects for users to try and these include;
- Alternate view for search results,
- Keyword suggestions,
- Keyboard shortcuts,
- Left-hand search navigation, and
- Right-hand contextual search navigation.
Unlike the times when SEOs and Google watchers would be introduced to a new Google product only at it's final launch, Google now allows these users to sign up and participate in the experimental process of random tests, skew results and perhaps provide feedback for constant improvement. The first tests available on the site are timeline and map views, keyboard shortcuts, and left- or right-hand navigation options.
This concept of "views" has been introduced to present the unstructured information in a structured manner. For instance using a timeline view will make it easier for a user to locate information about a particular time in history; similarly, a map view helps plot out specific locations. And, this is not where it ends! Google intends to continue adding to Google experimental.
Users can only elect to use one experimental feature at a time, and the only reason that explains this choice is Google's focus on simplicity. After all, its main portal of entry has been a calculatedly simple search box and a link or three since the company's inception. It isn't about to suddenly offload a dump truck of new features on a user base that, by the latest numbers, largely still prefers its services to the competition.
These experiments are all great and they should all be included in the future update. However not enabling every one by default is a disadvantage, but these are all great tools that could easily gain popularity to justify their inclusion in Google's primary portal. The Google search features have needed an upgrade for a while, and these are the perfect tools to help users traverse the mountains of data in Google's index.
While Google Experimental is all about user experience, yet it does not replace Google Labs, the latter being used standalone applications and products to test. All you have to do is sign up and use all search features to check their functionality or interface, until you choose to opt out of it.
