An Ecommerce site with below average or no hits can be frustrating. But getting traffic to your site is not a difficult task if you follow a few tips for Search Engine Optimization.
- Insert keywords within the Title Tag so the Search engine crawlers know what your website is all about.
- Use Anchor Tags when you link to different pages of the site. The more pages or keywords that link to a particular page the better.
- Have the same Keyword on the H1 Tag and use them in the body of your web page.
- Do not use the same title for all the pages of your website as the Robot interprets all the pages to be the same and the WebPages do not get indexed. It is advisable to use the Headline of the page as the Title
- Put all the relevant keywords in the meta tags
- Title tags for text links. Insert the title tag within the HTML of your text link to add weight to the link and the page where the link resides. This is like the alt tag for images.
- Use text links for your menus preferably. The links should be keywords. When you hover over the link with your mouse, the title of the link appears.
- Describe your images with the use of the alt tag. This will help search engines that index images to find your pages and will also help readers who use text only web browsers.
